New York CNN —Wendy’s is sweetening its breakfast lineup with a new treat that comes from an unusual place: Another fast food chain. Also, most Cinnabon locations haven’t yet opened for the day when Wendy’s sells breakfast, which ends at 10:30 am. Perhaps Wendy’s adding cinnamon pull-aparts might entice some dissatisfied customers of McDonald’s, which last year scrapped its McCafé bakery lineup that also included a cinnamon roll. The “Cinnabon Pull-Aparts” are made from sweetened dough that’s dunked in a glaze then baked with cinnamon, brown butter and sugar. The chain previously predicted that breakfast would make 10% of its sales, with figures reaching 8.5% in 2021 before Wendy’s stopped reporting individual sales for the morning menu.

McDonald's is making four tweaks to its signature Big Mac sandwich and cheeseburgers. Additions include caramelized onions, softer buns, melted cheese, and more Big Mac sauce. McDonald's last month also decided to rebrand its crispy chicken sandwich to the McCrispy. Big Macs will also come with more Big Mac sauce, the company said in a press release. The decision to tinker with its burgers follows McDonald's rebranding its crispy chicken sandwich to the McCrispy last month.

New York CNN —McDonald’s, which has been focusing on upgrading its core items to boost sales, is rolling out a series of changes designed to improve its signature burgers. The Big Mac will come with more Big Mac sauce. “In an environment where our customers are looking for the simple and familiar, our core menu items have never been more relevant,” he said. McDonald's USAFocusing on promoting its core menu items, rather than introducing new products, is a way to keep processes simpler and reduce friction in the kitchen. “Throughout 2022, some of our most successful campaign platforms brought our customers closer to the core menu items,” Kempczinski said during the January call.
The flavor is only available for a limited time at participating Popeyes, so Insider tested it out. The buttery, sweet, biscuit is a new take on the classic biscuit that comes with each meal. The strawberry biscuit was launched at participating locations on March 27, so I decided to visit the Popeyes closest to me to give them a try before it's too late. Like Alarcon suggested, the pastry tasted like a classic biscuit with the hints of sweetness from a strawberry jelly. The wrap appears to closely mimic McDonald's iconic snack wrap, which came in several varieties, including a ranch flavor.
Chipotle is launching a virtual restaurant brand featuring "California-inspired" bowls. The virtual restaurant makes its debut later this month in a ghost kitchen in Santa Monica, California. Farmesa will operate at the Kitchen United Mix food hall at Third Street Promenade, a tourist-heavy outdoor retail center in Santa Monica. Kitchen United is a Pasadena, California-based ghost kitchen operator with locations all over the US. Chipotle's new concept, Farmesa, is opening later this month at ghost kitchen/food hall Kitchen United Mix.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is launching a new spinoff, called Farmesa Fresh Eatery, in a California ghost kitchen. And, "when the time is right," Lawton said, Chipotle will use its loyalty program database to attract potential Farmesa customers. When opened, the Santa Monica location will be Kitchen United's 24th ghost kitchen. For Chipotle, Kitchen United's model allows the restaurant chain to test out the new brand with reduced risk. For now, Chipotle's chief purpose with the location is simply to learn, but that doesn't mean Farmesa won't grow.
